On your own machine. Audio and all derived data are processed and stored locally and are not uploaded to ADI-AI. We cannot see your case material.
No — ADI-AI never deletes your evidence. Your completed evidence set is published to a case folder you choose and stays there. A summary manifest (summary.json) records exactly what was produced and where, so every artifact is accounted for and easy to find. Cleanup applies only to ADI-AI's own internal working files, never to your data.
The pipeline makes a bit-perfect forensic copy of the original and records a SHA-256 hash at acquisition, then records a SHA-256 hash at every processing step. The original file is never modified; all work is performed on the copy.
Yes. ADI-AI records a SHA-256 hash of your original at acquisition and at every processing step, producing a documented chain of custody automatically — without you running a separate hashing tool or logging signatures by hand.
A completed case folder contains the transcript, a chain-of-custody record, your verified audio copy alongside its SHA-256 hash, and a summary.json manifest describing the run. Everything is published to the case folder you chose.

ADI-AI attributes speech to speakers, timestamps it, and threads the conversation — producing a structured account of who said what and in what order. That attributed, time-ordered record is the foundation an investigator or attorney uses to build a timeline.

Yes. ADI-AI is CPU-only by design and requires no dedicated graphics card. It runs on a standard modern Windows workstation with 16 GB of RAM.
WAV, FLAC, MP3, M4A, AAC, and OGG. Files are converted to the working format automatically before processing. A proprietary recorder format that cannot be decoded is flagged, with guidance to export it to WAV, FLAC, or MP3 first.
Windows 11 and a modern multi-core CPU (no graphics card required). Free disk space differs by product — see the next question. BASIC and BASIC-F need 16 GB of RAM and about 10 GB of free disk space. Windows 10 is verified to run but is not a supported platform.
It depends on the product:
The free-space figures allow for the download and the unpacked application existing at the same time during installation. The Scribe50 downloads are large because the entire AI transcription engine and its models are bundled into the install — that is deliberate, so your first transcription is as fast as every one after it and nothing is fetched later.
Monthly billing through a secure processor. The license is validated at launch and tolerates brief offline periods. If a subscription lapses, access ends after a short window.
You can cancel anytime, in about a minute — no ADI-AI account or password needed. Click Cancel Subscription below, enter the email you used when you subscribed, and Stripe emails you a one-time code. Enter it to open your billing page, then choose Cancel subscription. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep access until then and won’t be charged again. Your recordings and transcripts stay on your computer — cancelling only stops future billing, it never touches your files.
Yes. Scribe50 FREE is unlicensed and runs offline indefinitely. For paid editions, after a successful online validation the software continues to launch offline for up to 7 days before it needs to re-validate. Transcription itself is always local and never needs a connection.
Yes. A license is bound to one device at a time. To move it, go to https://license.adi-ai.ai/release and enter your license key. We email a confirmation link to the address on file; click it to release the license, then activate ADI-AI on the new machine with the same key. No need to contact support.
ADI-AI is a veteran-founded company. It is built, hosted, and operated entirely in the United States, by US-based people. Your audio is processed locally on your own computer and never leaves it.
Our security and data-handling practices are built to align with the principles of NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-88. We are pursuing ISO 27001 certification.
No — this is expected with the BASIC and BASIC-F installers. After you double-click, there is about a minute where the only sign anything is happening is the spinning cursor (hourglass). During that time the installer is verifying its signature and unpacking a large application in the background. Please wait and do not double-click again — a second double-click can start a second copy of the installer.
Two separate things, and the download is usually the longer one.
Downloading. This depends entirely on your connection, and the files are large — 3.5 GB for Scribe50 FREE, 10.5 GB for Scribe50 Plus, about 1 GB for BASIC or BASIC-F. On a slow connection the Scribe50 downloads can take a long while. Use a fast connection if you can, and leave it running.
Installing. For BASIC and BASIC-F, plan for 5 to 10 minutes total depending on your CPU: about a minute of background verification and unpacking (cursor only, no window), then a visible progress bar through completion. Slower or older processors are at the longer end of that range. Scribe50 installs as a signed Windows package and shows its own progress; Scribe50 Plus then takes a few extra minutes on first launch to configure itself.
All of it is one-time. After setup, launches are fast.
The installer is code-signed by ADI-AI LLC (Azure Trusted Signing) and verified unmodified. Until Windows SmartScreen builds reputation for our signed releases, you may see a "not commonly downloaded" or "unknown publisher" prompt. Click More info, then Run anyway. If your browser warns during download, choose Keep. This is standard for newly published, independently distributed software and does not affect the application's integrity — the download is signed and unmodified.
